Joan Frost teaching at the American Center for the Alexander Technique

My Story

A Life in Movement

Joan Frost has spent decades exploring the relationship between the mind, body, and the way we move through the world.

Joan Frost, Alexander Technique teacher

Joan Frost discovered the Alexander Technique as a young dancer struggling with chronic tension and pain. What began as a personal search for relief became a lifelong passion and vocation.

She trained at the American Center for the Alexander Technique in New York City, one of the most respected teacher training programs in the world. After completing her certification, she joined the faculty and eventually served as Director of Teacher Certification from 2001 to 2008.

Over the course of her career, Joan has worked with actors, musicians, dancers, athletes, and everyday people — anyone seeking to move with greater ease, to reduce chronic pain, or simply to feel more at home in their body.
