The Alexander Technique

A Different Way of Moving

The Alexander Technique is an educational method that teaches you to recognize and change harmful habits of posture and movement — the unconscious patterns that cause pain, tension, and fatigue.

Not Exercise

The technique is not a set of exercises or stretches. It is a process of learning — re-educating the relationship between thought and movement.

Not Therapy

While it relieves pain and tension, the Alexander Technique is fundamentally educational. You learn to help yourself, not to depend on a practitioner.

Lasting Change

By addressing the root cause of tension — habitual patterns of use — the technique produces changes that last, rather than temporary relief.
