Alexander Technique Joan Frost M.AmSAT

My Teaching Experience Alexander Technique

Teaching the Alexander Technique over the past 35 years, I have enjoyed a variety of venues for transmitting this work. I have been training teachers at The American Center for the Alexander Technique (ACAT) in New York City since 1984 and was Director of Teacher Certification there from 2001-2008. In the performing arts, I have been on the faculties of The Juilliard School, Sarah Lawrence College, The Diller Quaille School of Music, and The New School. In the medical arena, I presented for The Arthritis Foundation from 2001-2010, taught at Spine Options (www.spineoptions.org) from 2008-2017, and taught at Greenwich Hospital’s Center for Integrative Medicine. Over the years, I have presented at numerous national and international Alexander Technique Congresses and will continue to do so.

I studied yoga (Katonah Yoga) weekly for twelve years and enjoy helping students improve their yoga postures. In 2006, I completed Jessica Wolf’s The Art of Breathing post-graduate course (theartofbreathing.org). Easeful and coordinated breathing has been an interest for many years and I have been successful in helping people breathe, speak, and sing with less strain. Currently, in addition to my full and diverse private practice at the locations below, I teach summer master classes at The Shakespeare Academy @ Stratford and group classes at Stratford’s Baldwin Center.

I love to teach! For private lessons, group classes, or presentations at your organization, please contact me:
